Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare
What if damnation is the price of true love?
Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the blight that is destroying the race of warlocks.
Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.
This is the end of the trilogy of Dark Artifices and I think at the end of this book, I did not feel that it was an end, which will continue, well we know that their next trilogy will be the wicked powers, but let’s start with the review. The book is divided into three parts and I think I have different opinions in each part:
Part One: “Feel No Sorrow”
Of course it starts with a funeral, it’s all sad and emotional, but I find out that Tessa Gray is pregnant, and I didn’t really appreciate it. , after spending a life with Will Herondale and made family, etcetera and after twenty years is left with my beloved Jem Carstairs and remarried and make a new family, as I did not like, I think it was because I was always Team Jem and I wanted from the beginning They’ll stay together. Also that Julian asks for a spell to Magnus Bane to have no feelings and not start with the curse Parabataan, I do not think I expected something different, did not meet my expectations.
Part two: “Thule.”
This part, for me was the worst part, I did not like for anything its other dimension, very boring, were too many chapters of the same, no action, expected something more entertaining, as a battle, not, the villain of this story that is Annabel Blackthorn was short , did not emphasize at any time, I did not see that it had an extraordinary power, for nothing I liked and there were also many characters of filling and many stories or anecdotes that did not see the case, I just wanted to finish this part.
Part three: “Lady Vengeance”
This part was made me excellent, at last there was action and some secrets were discovered as the curse Parabataan, but still Annabel did not emphasize, I think I emphasize more the consul, so much that provoked a war. What I had never had to read was that Mark, Cristina and Kieran were a triangle and the three would stay together! I didn’t expect that! It was not that Cristina should choose one or Mark, you must choose one, but no! All three had chosen, described a love so pure and beautiful, that I was delighted with them, always this writer describes Love as a pure and selfless feeling. It had a good ending, but it didn’t cover my expectations.
The extra bonus I liked about this book were the illustrations and the poster they contained, as you know I love the illustrations and this made it a wonderful experience.
This is my favorite
