The New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series reaches new heights in this action-packed, heart-wrenching and fantastically addictive sequel to Sarah J. Maas’s epic YA fantasy debut
Eighteen-year-old Celaena Sardothien is bold, daring and beautiful – the perfect seductress and the greatest assassin her world has ever known. But though she won the King’s contest and became his champion, Celaena has been granted neither her liberty nor the freedom to follow her heart. Celaena faces a choice that is tearing her to pieces: kill in cold blood for a man she hates, or risk sentencing those she loves to death. Celaena must decide what she will fight for: survival, love or the future of a kingdom. Because an assassin cannot have it all … And trying to may just destroy her.
This is the second part of throne of Glass.
The book begins with Celaena arriving at the castle after killing an enemy of the king of Adarlan. After being crowned the “King’s murderer” his job is that for four years, he has to do everything the king asks him to be free. But it won’t be easy, because the work you have to do will be very complicated. The king has you threatened, if you do not fulfill the tasks your nearest loved ones as Chaol, or Nehemia will suffer the consequences.
The characters evolved very much from one book to another, and even from the beginning of this book at the end. Celeane is a character that I like a lot, here I saw a Celeane different more ruthless and a little more cruel. Chaol, I fell in love with him, for the moment, is perfect and I loved that Celeane has chosen him, and more when they celebrate the birthday of Chaol, God! It’s my favorite part. I can’t help but have a lot of emotions in this story, it’s a rollercoaster. You don’t know who to trust and who to love. The secondary characters are very easy to get attached to, some took unexpected turns, others were more relevant in the story and new characters appeared to whom I would love to know more.
The end is amazing and let me know with more! Several secrets were revealed in this book that are very important! I love this story because the story is very unpredictable, you never know what will happen. This book is more obscure than its predecessor. There are many important conflicts and events that I imagine will come out in your next book.
